No Son Of Mine – Genesis

Twenty years ago this week, No son of mine by Genesis reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart, having entered the top 40 the previous week at number 9. The song remained in the top 10 for one more week before falling into the lower top 40, where it spent the final week of its chart life.

No son of mine was released on the Virgin record label and was the sixth of eight top 10 hits for Genesis. It was the first track taken from the quintuple platinum-selling album We can't dance, which topped the UK album chart for two weeks.
