Get The Party Started – Pink

Ten years ago this week, Get the party started by Pink entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 2. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped to number 3 only to return to 2 the following week. The song remained in the top 10 for another three weeks then spent the final six weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Get the party started was released on the Arista record label and was certified silver. It was the first track taken from the quintuple platinum-selling album Missundaztood, which peaked at number 2 in the UK album chart later in 2002. In 2007, Shirley Bassey recorded a version of the song for a series of commercials, but it failed to enter the UK top 40.
