Ten years ago this week, Star guitar by the Chemical Brothers entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 8. After just one week in the top 10, the record dropped into the lower top 40 where it stayed for the final three weeks of its chart life.

Star guitar was released on the Virgin record label and was the sixth of seven top 10 hits for the Chemical Brothers in the UK. It was the second track taken from the duo's gold-selling album Come with us, which spent a week at the top of the UK album chart later in 2002.
