Twenty years ago this week, We got a love thang by Ce Ce Peniston peaked at number 6 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 13 and broke into the top 10 in its second week. After one week at number 6, the song dropped out of the top 10 but stayed in the top 40 for three more weeks before exiting.

We got a love thang was released on the A&M record label and was the first of three top 10 hits for Ce Ce Peniston in the UK. It was the second track taken from her silver-selling debut album Finally, which peaked at number 10 in the UK album chart later in 1992.
