March Of The Siamese Children – Kenny Ball And His Jazzmen

Fifty years ago this week, March of the Siamese children by Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen was at number 6 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks in its fifth week in the top 40 and third in the top 10. After its second week at number 6, the tune rose to its highest position of number 4 and then dropped to number 8 for a final week in the top 10. A further five weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.

March of the Siamese children was released on the Pye Jazz record label. It was the second of four top 10 hits for Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen in the UK.
